Grease! Live: Review

Hello My Lovelies!

Apologies for not posting in a while! Things have been incredibly busy with college- I've had to do 2 quite big units of work in 4 weeks and next week I have auditions for my end of year show! That is not what I'm here to talk about today though! I am here to talk about Grease!

For those of you who know, I am a huge musical theatre fan and when I found out ITV2 was broadcasting Grease: Live that had been on FOX in the states on Sunday I was super excited and prepared myself for a fun filled night of watching, singing and maybe dancing.
The 3 hour musical spectacular started with an alright rendition of the title song "Grease is the Word" by Jessie J but I'm sure you can all agree the original was the best. The writers of this version have taken inspiration from both the film and stage version featuring all of the songs I know and love! I adored Carly Rae Jepsen's performance as Frenchy however you can tell musical theatre isn't her forte. However she really rocks the pink wig! The producers even gave her her own song "All I Need is an Angel"  just after she did a scene with Didi Con the original Frenchy!
Vanessa Hudgens who I grew up with playing Gabriella in High School Musical sadly lost her father a few hours before the show was broadcast- but as the saying goes "The Show Must Go On" and her portrayal of Betty Rizzo was great under the circumstances and her rendition of "There Are Worse Things I Could Do" made me very emotional.
As an Aaron Tveit fan I was in awe of him playing Danny and I loved how he portrayed him, it wasn't copying John Travolta in the film- he brought his own twist on the character which I fell in love with.  Most importantly I was in awe of Sandy- having played Sandy once before I enjoyed watching how the role could be changed about. I was in LOVE with Sandy's wardrobe and only wish I could have had her wardrobe for our production- but still I got to wear my own vintage clothes!

From what I gathered Sandy's prom dress is from Unique Vintage and I am contemplating getting it for a party! If you missed Grease: Live you can catch it on here!

I hope you enjoy it or enjoyed it as much as I did!
Let me know what you think in the comments!
Keep adventuring.
